Q: What is OCG?
A: OCG provides services for those who seek help with life's difficulties compounded by substance abuse. OCG has been providing drug-free counseling services since 1988.
Q: Is OCG non-profit?
A: An essential part of OCG's continued growth is the financial support given to us by individuals,corporations and foundations. OCG is a non profit, 501(c)3 organization.
Q: Are your services only for adolescents?
A: Separate and individualized programs are available for adolescents, adults, and all family members. Substance abuse disrupts people's lives and the lives of those who care about them. OCG seeks to heal the whole individual as well as the client's family and social network. Issues such as emotional well being, physical health, education and work preparedness are all part of restoring our clients and their loved ones to health.
Q: What is the underlying treatment philosophy of OCG?
A: OCG is based on the Therapeutic Community (TC) concept: a highly structured and nurturing family environment where positive peer interaction is emphasized.
Q: Who makes up the staff of OCG?
A: The staff consists of professionals in the fields of psychology, social work, medicine and education, as well as OCG graduates who have gone through intensive training and certification in counseling.
Q: Where are OCG's facilities located?
A: OCG operates 3 facilities in San Mateo County: Redwood City, East Palo Alto and Belmont.
